FAQ’s

Do you teach classes?2022-06-24T20:10:08-04:00

Years ago I did, and one never knows what life changes might bring! However, not at this time…though I Do Love to Teach!

Where can I buy Polymer Clay?2022-06-24T15:54:17-04:00

Any Art and Craft Supply store, brick and mortar or on line. Examples: DickBlick, Michaels, PolymerClaySuperstore.com, Sculpey.com

My Dragon Folk Studios sculpture broke! Do you do repairs?2022-06-24T15:53:58-04:00

Certainly! Take a photo or three of the damage and attach them to an email describing what happened and I’ll let you know if I can help, and estimate of the cost. I’ll explain how to properly box and ship to my studio so I may sort out the injury!

How do I care for and clean my sculpture?2022-06-24T15:53:36-04:00

Dry dust with a soft brush, or for grimier conditions, use warm water, a little mild dishes detergent and a soft brush. Don’t use Dawn, it’s too harsh. Then rinse in warm water, blot excess water with a soft cloth or towel, allow to air dry or use a hair dryer on low. If you have special circumstances or are unsure, email with photos and I’ll be happy to advise you!

How did you learn to do this?2022-06-24T15:53:10-04:00

Though I did attend Massachusetts College of Art and learned many useful skills there, I was born with a talent and understanding of 3 Dimensional creativity – both subtraction (carving) and addition (as in Clay work). I see what I want to create in my imagination and it comes through my hands…Magic!

What do you use for eyes?2022-06-24T15:52:42-04:00

I use Swarovski and Austrian Crystals for the eyes, toes, fingernails and many other places where a little sparkly is needed!

How do you make the wings?2022-06-24T15:51:41-04:00

I create the wings from Thai Papers and Bronze Welding Rod. I then hand paint and treat them with 2 products. One for UV protection and one for durability.

Does Polymer Clay air dry?2022-06-24T15:51:20-04:00

No. Polymer Clay stays soft and pliable till its fired. An ordinary oven is used for this low fire compound.

What are your sculptures made of?2022-06-24T15:51:01-04:00

All my Fantasy sculptures are made of Polymer Clay and all by my hand. The clays begin as solid color blocks and I create the marbling effect by mixing the clays together. The color that you see is actually the Clay itself – I use no paint on the clay.
